Wrexham Feast for ..... FOOD FUN FAMILY TIME MUSIC TREATS COOKERY WINE
Wrexham Feast 2023 was held at Waterworld car Park in Wrexham city centre on the 23rd & 24th of September 2023! It was phenomenal!
From tasty street food to outstanding performances, back-to-back entertainment and thousands of visitors descending on the city centre, it was a weekend not to be missed!
Wrexham has been shot into the global spotlight with the rise of the Disney Plus documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ and the Hollywood football owners, but that’s not all Wrexham is famous for… We also host Wrexham Feast, packed full of fabulous Welsh Food and Drink, along with other incredible tastes and treats from around the world.
With Wrexham having one of the oldest breweries – Wrexham Lager, a beer which was served on the Titaic – Wrexham has huge names too, such as Village Bakery and Kellogg on our doorstep. It would be wrong not to celebrate all Wrexham has to offer!
So Wrexham Feast is not just about big names; we showcase all the fantastic local Welsh talent in the culinary world, with chefs coming from around the county to show off their skills and tasty dishes. This year, we had chefs from The Lemon Tree Restaurant and Hotel, Croes Howell, The Buck, Maggie’s African Twist, Happy Hedgehog Foods, Goch & Co, Bevsbeenbaking and The Bank Bar and Restaurant.
We provided an absolutely FREE cookery school for families in partnership with Colleg Cambria and their IAL Restaurant; this allowed families to participate in free activities, make meals, and learn new skills. We were promoting healthy eating and farm-to-fork.
With over 90 unique businesses across two halls and the central street food court, there was so much to choose from, tastes from all around the world to give you such fantastic options. We had something for everyone with a fantastic range of gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options on-site for healthy and naughty treats.
Our entertainment was back-to-back for two days, with great names like The Old Time Sailors taking over the main stage and interacting with the crowd. We have local Welsh names such as Andy Hickie, too. We were joined by fantastic local choirs, such as the Rock Choir, who recently performed at Eurovision Village.
Family Entertainment isn’t a problem either, with our street performers, Circus School, Cookery School, Street Dance Classes, Fairground Rides and great musical entertainment too – There is something for all, especially as children are FREE to attend too!
This year, we supported Ysgol Borras Park with FREE tickets for all parents and Staff; we also gave away tickets to disadvantaged local groups and community projects that would benefit from attending.
Every year, we also support local businesses and startups with sponsored spaces; these businesses would find the most value from being at the event but could be facing financial barriers to attend. Each business that applies for a sponsored space is evaluated case-by-case to see what support we can offer them. This can include newly opened businesses – This year, one of the businesses we supported was our local African community market, which had a stall to support the opening of its new local store. We could promote what they offered and return business to their new high street shop.
We love running Wrexham Feast and are very proud of how this festival has become awarded and named one of the fastest-growing food festivals in North Wales. We aim to offer families an affordable festival where they can enjoy the highlights of large-scale events at a cost affordable for visitors and traders alike!
So if you would be interested in seeing what we offer, join us 21st & 22nd of September 2024 for another fabulous and tasty event as we become the place to be for food and Drink in North Wales in September!!
