Chirk Carnival 2023 returns with great success!
Fantastic family carnival returns once again!
Chirk Carnival returned to the recreational ground on the 3rd of June, 2023. Well, it was a scorcher of a day and a huge success.
Thousands of visitors descend on the town with all their families to watch the spectacular entertainment and check out the fantastic independent businesses in the Artisan Market Hall and street food court.
This year saw the launch of Chirk Carnival’s giant sandpit, which went down a treat as the kids played and the parents sat around and enjoyed the sun.
We also welcomed a Hot Air Balloon for the Rainbow Balloon team for our inflation in the main arena. It was a real sight for all to see, as the pilots explained how the balloons work and some fascinating information about flying in the area, It was great that the Fair Event Team had the unique opportunity to help them inflate the balloon.
Also in our main area were the Knights of Albion with Sir Robert of Wrexham battling against the Black Knight for the hand of the fair maiden! They put on a fantastic show in a high-action show.
Joining us this year was The Delta School of Dance and Performing Arts, who showcased their summer show Mary Poppins, delighting the audience with their chimney sweeps and dance performances

Our main stage enjoyed back-to-back music throughout the day, With music from the 1940s to modern and upbeat songs! This year, we welcomed a band from London – Don’t Wake The Neighbours, who came to perform for us as their grandparents lived in Chirk and wanted to see them play – We were so glad we could help give them this opportunity.
Our Artisan Market has supported over 45 independent businesses from across the UK at this year’s event, with everything from sweet treats to bespoke gifts. We welcome businesses of all kinds into our shopping marquee. We also had a great range of street food and treats, including gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free options with something for all.

We once again hosted the local community disco at the Chirk Carnival Site a few days earlier for all the children in the local area which raised money for the two local schools Ysgol Y Waun and Ysgol Pentre to help them purchase books for the pupils, the event also raised significant funds for the local Community Cupboard through the tuck shop and chocolate fountain.
Thank you to all our sponsors and supporters for this event; it has become a substantial event in the local calendar that visitors from far and wide come to enjoy!
We look forward to returning again on the 1st of June 2024!
This Event was supported by UKSPF funding, Wrexham County Borough Council and Chirk Town Council. #UKSPF #WCBC #Fairevent
